Angela Francis
Co-Founder
Angela was a NED with an NGO of sport when she joined Beverley and Lorraine to establish Sporting Equals and brought that experience with her to the founding role. Angela’s love and passion for sport especially basketball which she played at national level and then went on to referee club teams and coach junior squads gave her a rich tapestry of experiences in both sport and life; a base from which to share her on-court and off-court experiences that spoke strongly to equality, inclusion and diversity.
Angela moved from the Midlands to attend a London University and later joined the legal profession as a Barrister specialising in commercial law when completing her LLM. Angela’s post-qualification experience of thirty plus years has seen her as an Adjudicator with an Ombudsman scheme and later General Counsel for a payment solutions company. Angela’s legal training and over-arching knowledge of the law has been a great source of reference for all organisations in which she has been involved.
Now living in the Caribbean running her own business Angela has gone full circle returning to Sporting Equals as an Advisor to the Audit-Committee working closely again with both Beverley and Lorraine.
