Associate Membership
What is Associate Membership?
Through the Associate Membership offer, Sporting Equals believes a united voice with the support of our organisation will build a strong, planned approach to influence national and local policy work towards more resources and opportunities available to ethnically diverse communities and faith organisations nationally, regionally and locally.
Associate Members must meet the following criteria;
- Must be a constituted, self-governing body of people who have joined together voluntarily to take action for the benefit of ethnically diverse communities
- OR a business that is either has a majority of ethnically diverse individuals in the leadership team OR has a majority of ethnically diverse service users
- It must have the capacity to operate locally, regionally or nationally to promote sport and physical activity to ethnically diverse communities
- The aims, objectives and methods of working of the organisation must be publicly available
Sporting Equals work will provide the following Benefits to Members:
- By joining the Sporting Equals network through the Associate Membership programme, you will have access to contacts within the sports and physical activity sector.
- Opportunity to be showcased through blogs, social media posts and newsletters.
- Minimum of 2 touchpoints with Sporting Equals throughout the year which may include in person visits or calls to check in and updates you on key events e.g. nominations for the Sporting Equals awards being open.
- Access to be shown on the Associate Member map to highlight your organisation and it's offerings with direct links to your websites/social media platforms.
- Members will receive regular e-newsletters/alerts and updates from Sporting Equals to receive information on:
- Upcoming events
- Project recruitment happening in your local area
- Policy documents and research
- Relevant board and job opportunities
- Local funding opportunities and workshops
- Local, regional and national opportunities from Sporting Equals and the wider sport sector
