Sporting Equals X Sweaty Betty Foundation

Sporting Equals partnered with the Sweaty Betty Foundation in 2021 to launch the Girls Powered project which aims at getting the least active 13-18-year-old girls in Greater Manchester active.

The project  empowers girls to both participate and co-design, fun, inclusive, and ongoing physical activities based at a local partner community organisation.

The project also provides organisational capacity building support to the selected partner organisations to ensure they have a sustainable future once the project ends.

This project has demonstrated an approach that has empowered young girls to codesign ‘offers’ to meet their needs and overcome the race and faith barriers that exist.
