Tony Burnett retiring from Kick It Out

News has reached us that Tony Burnett, CEO of Kick It Out, will be retiring at the end of the 2023/24 football season. Tony has been an actor within our sector for over 40 years and is one of the most recognisable faces of race inclusion in sport. The work he has done, leading Kick It Out, has helped accelerate the cause and shed a light on the challenges faced, particularly in football.

He has been a strong advocate for race inclusion, bringing racism to the forefront of Premier League football coverage on a regular basis. Kick It Out have supported key stakeholders in the football world in tackling racism and making the sport more inclusive.

As per Kick It Out’s statement Tony is now taking time to be with his family and explore some of his other passions. We congratulate Tony on his incredible contribution to the sector and the difference he has made. He is an inspiration and we wish him all the best in his next adventure.
